Becky..Lǎoshī zǎoshang hǎo !
I have started a 15 week semester in a Chinese School. I wish you could see me you would laugh so hard all of you. I am in First Grade,yes.. Becky/Ellie with 13 years old students and younger, Zhende ma ! All the students are american born Chinese. They either speak no chinese like me..cantonese or do speak Chinese at home and their parents want them to speak...very well. My class mate is about 7 or 8 years old his mother sits next to us during class she has two children in this class. No other western students in the class or the school ! OMG Laoshi !. My teacher is from the north of China she is a Graduate student here at a local University, her major is Mass Communication. Everything we are studying now 90% you have taught me and did so very well...3Q.
I will only be in First Grade temporarily until they find my level and move me to another class.
Our class is two hours long..with a break after one hour. Then all the kids run outside and play for 15 minutes. Our first class Ellie and Becky our Teacher said...Taibangle1 go play :) with you friends.
We speak very little english...I am okay here and everyone is very helpful . I have five books and and a dicitionary. The school is having a Chinese New Year party and lunch soon. I will go too.
They all feel I can speak well...but I have much room for improvement.
I won't forget !!! :) 88 :)
